Live365 launched in 1999 as one of the first platforms to make online radio accessible to everyone. We quickly became known for enabling user-generated radio long before podcasting and streaming music platforms emerged.
Over our history, Live365 evolved from a simple hosting platform into a complete streaming, licensing, and monetization service used by tens of thousands of broadcasters globally.
Following industry shifts and rights-licensing changes, Live365 was rebuilt and relaunched – preserving our legacy while gaining new infrastructure, licensing agreements, and a more modern operational backbone.

The SoundStack Integration
Live365 now operates within SoundStack, a global audio-infrastructure company formed by combining six specialized audio businesses:
- ColoIP Networks – audio hosting + monetization services
- EmpireStreaming – small-to-mid-size streaming provider (the legacy backbone of Live365)
- Abovecast – multi-entity operations + technology coordination
- Media Creek – ad tech + marketplace (billing, monetization)
- AudioReach – consulting and enterprise ad operations
- AudioCatapult – 1,000+ servers, large-scale infrastructure
These entities unified under the SoundStack brand (rebranded in April 2022) to create an “audio-as-a-service” platform supporting thousands of publishers across streaming, analytics, podcasting, and monetization.
