BlackLight Radio is an internet-only radio station, streaming in stereo twenty four hours a day from Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA for over fifteen years. Our catalogue consists exclusively of music recorded, released or having charted during the 1980s. We started with the Billboard Year End Hot 100 singles from 1980 through 1989, giving us a core library of a thousand songs, programmed to guarantee no repeats in any thirty six hour period. We utilize a Music Advisory Board of over a dozen 80s superfans who weekly recommend and vote on songs to adjust, add or remove from rotation, which is based on an “all of the 80s, all of the time” philosophy. Along with the biggest hits, we also include deep album cuts, novelty songs, parodies, concert recordings, B-sides, rarities, and even previously unreleased material. This gives us unduplicated musical variety. We are centered around pop rock but fearlessly feature songs from any genre to hit the mainstream during our favorite decade, including hard rock, metal, rap, country, songs from hit movies, Broadway show tunes and more.
